Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a form of a strong, deep massage, especially popular in North America.
Massage therapist uses her whole hands to warm up selected body parts and then works using mainly fists, knuckles, forearms and elbows to focus as much pressure as possible on the targeted layers of muscles.
The aim of deep tissue massage is to restore correct tension in deep layers of muscle tissue and connective tissue. Prolonged tension or injury might lead to the formation of scar tissue (sore and stiff layers of tissue) in muscles, tendons or ligaments. Scar tissue might obstruct blood circulation, cause pain, impede movement, and lead to an inflammatory condition. Through gradual release of tension as well as elimination of scar tissue and incorrect movement patterns, deep tissue massage relieves pain and restores proper range of movement.
Apart from eliminating muscle pain, the massage improves blood circulation and removes toxins from your body.
