Chinese cupping massage
Cupping massage is one of the oldest forms of Asian medicine. It has been used in China for thousands of years and has become a healing treatment beneficial for a variety of ailments.
It is recommended, among others, for people with musculoskeletal problems and to fight cellulite. The vacuum which is created when the cup sucks onto the skin relaxes muscles, soft tissue, and enhances well-being.
Cupping therapy affects tissue up to 10 cm deep into the skin. It removes toxins, activates the lymphatic system, cleans the intestine from deposits, activates and cleans veins, arteries and capillaries. The massage stimulates skin, reduces stretch marks and improves circulation. During the massage you become relaxed and might experience warmth and slight tingling.
Chinese cupping massage is completely safe. However, the treatment may result in minor swelling and change in the colour of the skin. Such effect is absolutely normal and should not last for more than a few days. Purple circles on the skin after the massage (for example on the back) are not bruises but blood vessels which have reacted to the change in pressure.
Contraindications for cupping massage:
- diseases in their acute stage
- skin areas with burns and inflammation
- allergy to honey
- varicose veins and phlebitis
