single tooth - the objective is to accurately show a tooth and the supporting structures. This type of an X-ray is used in all branches of dentistry. Often taken to detect caries or inflammations in conservative dentistry, it is also indispensable during and after root canal treatment as well as in assessing the degree of implant osseointegration. Single tooth pictures give most information about the state of individual teeth, and are characterized by the highest precision in representing the details.
At Top Medical Clinic we use a hi-tech intraoral imaging system manufactured by Gendex Dental Systems (USA) that makes it possible for the photos to be taken inside the dentist’s office, with no need for the patient to leave the chair. Moreover, the digital imaging allows an immediate interpretation of the X-ray on the dentist’s monitor, while the dose of ionizing radiation is lowered by 70 percent.
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), similarly to a conventional computed tomography, is an imaging technique which captures data using X-rays. The difference lies in the shape of the beam – the cone-shaped X-ray beam used in CBCT allows for a significant reduction in radiation exposure. Thanks to rotating elements of the scanner it is possible to create 3D images of analysed structures.
CBCT tomography creates bone structure and soft tissue images in the form of three-dimensional images of bones, teeth, soft tissue and nerve paths. Such precise data captured by CBCT make it easier for the dentist to create a detailed treatment plan in every aspect and at every stage of the treatment.
Cone beam CT can be used in:
Advantages of cone beam CT:
In our clinic we use one of the most innovative and precise digital panoramic radiographic instruments available on the market.
PaX-i 3D pantomograph by VATECH: provides best quality images, guarantees lowest X-ray exposure possible, adjusts imaging layers to each patient’s anatomy (occlusion, mandible shape etc.)
CBCT tomography is yet another tool in the hands of our specialists which allows them to provide Top Medical Clinic patients with services of the highest quality.
