DIAGNOSTICS

In Top Medical Clinic, we provide comprehensive dental care to our patients. An in-depth analysis of the teeth’s condition is conducted before treatment is commenced. Utilisation of most advanced diagnostic methods allows us to detect even the smallest of lesions and plan the treatment in such a manner that it is carried out in the least invasive way possible.
For diagnostic purposes, we use:
  • cutting-edge digital X-ray equipment – read more
  • microscope
  • an intra-oral camera
  • digital scanner

Digital Dentistry in Top Medical Clinic

Digital 3D technology constitutes one of the most advanced solutions in contemporary dentistry. The Planmeca Emerald™ scanner that we use in our clinic is the fastest and most precise 3D dental imaging equipment; it delivers high-definition images in full color and is completely noninvasive, insuring unprecedented comfort for the patient.

In just a few minutes, Planmeca Emerald produces virtual impressions of the mouth, so even during the initial consultation the dentist can already obtain a 3D model of the patients’ teeth, based on which they can assess the patient’s dentition very quickly and with great accuracy, and then plan the treatment. The scanner can be used as a diagnostic tool in implantology, orthodontics, or prosthodontics. It enables a realistic dental restoration of missing teeth or teeth after root canal therapy (i.e. crowns, bridges, veneers, ceramic or composite restorations—onlay, inlay, or overlay).

Advantages of the digital scanner:
  • Maximum comfort – any inconveniences typical of the common method involving impression material being put into the patient’s mouth are completely eliminated. The procedure can be paused at any time, and at no point will the patient experience gag reflex.
  • Accuracy – the measurements are produced with precision of approx. 50-70 micrometers, which is currently one of the highest levels of accuracy that can be attained. Furthermore, both hard and soft tissues are recorded in their natural positions, without any distortions resulting from the use of impression material. The scanner also identifies spots that have not been fully scanned, and, when inserted into the patient’s mouth a second time, it fills the gaps with new data. All this enables the dentist to design prostheses that perfectly match the patient’s needs, while taking into consideration even the tiniest details.
  • Great clinical results – based on digital impressions, a prosthodontist can prepare material so precisely fitting that dental bacteria cannot get under it, which greatly reduces the risk of developing caries, and thus yields more long-lasting results.
  • Shortening of the reconstruction process – after a scan is recorded in our dentist’s office, a digital file is sent to a lab where restoration work is designed and produced. In this way, the time of waiting for a prosthesis is cut by half.
